Local Rules
Out of Bounds
Beyond all perimeter fences, railing, walls and roads. The concrete and paving surrounds of the clubhouse. The unfenced part of the course beyond the straight line of trees and the white marker posts to the right of the 1st fairway between the clubhouse and the gardens.
Priority on the Course
Players on the 5th/14th hole should give priority to those playing from the 6th/15th tees where possible. Players on the 7th/16th holes should give priority to players on the 8th/17th; this includes ensuring the ladies’ 8th tee is clear. Players on the 8th/17th lower fairway when playing from beyond the poplar tree should give priority to players wishing to play from the 6th/15th tees where possible.
Restricted Approach to Certain Holes
If when playing the 8th/17th holes a ball passes to the right of the red marker post on the bank of the 5th/14th holes and comes to rest above a line extending from the red marker post to the yellow marker post and beyond (the R-Y line), the stroke must be replayed: penalty - distance only. A ball which passes to the left of the red marker post and comes to rest above the R-Y line may be played as it lies. A ball which comes to rest below the R-Y line is to be played as it lies to the left hand side of the red marker post.
Obstructions
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24 – 1 applies).
Sloping struts supporting boundary fences are immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2 applies).
Fixed sprinkler heads and manhole covers are also immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2 applies). In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, and if the ball lies within two club lengths of the intervening obstruction, the ball may be lifted cleaned and dropped at the nearest point which is not nearer the hole, avoids such intervention and is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
Dropping Zones
When playing the 1st/10th holes the protective screen to the right of the 2nd/11th tee is an immovable obstruction and two dropping zones operate for relief from it as indicated on the course. A ball coming to rest on the 2nd/11th tee is a mandatory free drop in the dropping zone to the left and right of the tee determined by which side of the white marker post the ball comes to rest. A ball coming to rest against the sleepers or on the path should be dropped in the dropping zone.
Area Requiring Preservation
Tees. When playing the 5th/14th holes only a ball coming to rest on the 6th/15th teeing surfaces must be lifted and dropped without penalty in the dropping zone below the 15th tee.
PLAYERS MUST REPLACE DIVOTS, REPAIR PITCH MARKS, RAKE BUNKERS
